Dear (Soon-to-be) Friend at First,
Beginning a relationship, and getting to know your new lead pastor (or new congregation) in a time of social distancing, may seem like trying to fly fish for brown trout in an Indiana cornfield. Despite this COVID-19 thing, I (Pastor Mark) want to get to know each of you because ministry is – at the heart of it – about relationships. To give you a chance to get to know something about me, and to give me a chance to get to know something about you, we are setting up a series of informal, 1-hour sessions we’re calling Meeting Mark and One Another (MMOA).
My hope is that you and I will get to know one another, and that those of you who participate-whether new to Auburn First or veteran members-will also get to know one another in a deeper way. We will be offering these sessions at a variety of times (see the registration tab) to fit your schedule. Some will be at the church in a large space, limited to no more than 12 persons, where we can express our care for one another by practicing social distancing. No refreshments will be served but you are encouraged to bring your own beverage and/or light snack. We will offer three ZOOM sessions for those who are out of the area or sheltering in place at home (Click here to register for the ZOOM sessions)
